Not Right Now Spartanburg (SC) is a community initiative that seeks to put teen pregnancy on pause. This initiative is part of the SC Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy. I came across the initiative on Facebook and established communication with the Spartanburg Community Specialist. I was moved by the fact that there were a lack of positive male role models for youth and teenage boys. I remembered my going through the pressures of sex in high school and college but decided to withhold the temptations so that I can focus on what was important: getting my education, taking advantage of the abundance of opportunities at my disposal, and making sure that I am ready for sex, marriage, and a family when the time is right. As a male role model for the initiative, I am part of the Spartanburg (SC) Community Action Group as a member. I look forward to helping Spartanburg (SC) become an empowered community that values the best for its youth and foster a culture of personal responsibility and engagement.
